Voos
Description
Voos isn't as much a store as it is a venue, a freewheeling community hotspot where local designers can interact, learn and make a little money together. The architect-trained Serap Demirag and designer Deger Cengiz opened the shop to promote local talent only, most of which is based in Brooklyn. They currently work with 30 different designers and showcase one to two pieces from each. Many experiment with sustainable methods, such as Brave Space's playful Tetrad bamboo shelving or a chaise longue from DMFD made entirely from leftover cork from the bottle-stopper industry.
