In operation since 1949, the family-owned and -operated Madelaine Chocolate Company is a key part of the small business scene in Rockaway Beach, selling handmade seasonal and year-round chocolates made using traditional recipes. Despite experiencing damage to their 200,000-square-foot facility after Hurricane Sandy flooded most of Rockaway Beach, the chocolate factory has gone back into business, bringing their chocolate assembly line back to life.
