Stinky Bklyn

The stinkier, the better at this Brooklyn specialty shop, which focuses on cheese but also features meats, chocolates, pastas, oils, vinegars and pickles. Cheese-wise, the shop offers a cheese-of-the-month club as well as everything you can imagine from around the globe (at various price points), including $17-per-pound, 300-day gorgonzola; $25-per-pound aged gouda; and $19-per-pound fontina. Each summer, the store co-hosts Stinkfest, an outdoor food and music extravaganza where real fromage aficionados can sign up for the cheese-eating contest.
