La Marqueta

Description

Founded in 1936 by then-mayor Fiorello LaGuardia—back when it was called the “Park Avenue Retail Market"—La Marqueta has recently gotten a facelift and now boasts on-site baking facilities and an urban gardening center. These updates join an ever-growing array of market sellers, including Mama Grace's Afro Caribbean Food, Breezy Hill Orchard and Cider Mill, and Nordic Preserves Fish & Wildlife Company.
