Best Made Co. started with an ax—a meticulously designed and handcrafted ax, created by owner Peter Buchanan-Smith in 2009. The ax sold like gangbusters to folks who wanted a touch of design-conscious masculinity in their lives, drew the attention of Andy Spade and four years later, Buchanan-Smith oversees a small empire of goods aimed at the stylish urban outdoorsman—from hunting knives, enamel bowls and toolboxes to board shorts and cruiser jackets.
