Veloce Pizzeria

A white Vespa parked in front and red-checkered tablecloths set the tone for this friendly pizza joint and wine bar. The pies here are square, but the place is hip, with a sleek design and a sophisticated Italian wine list. Above the long bar is a flat-screen TV that's been known to play Casino while TVs at either end are tuned to a Bruce Lee movie. The music is a mix of opera and Billie Holiday, so there are plenty of distractions if there's a lull in conversation. In addition to (very good) pizza is an array of salumi, sage-scented frito misto, potato fritters, salads and fried calamari.
