Torrisi Italian Specialties

Out of Business

Description

Torrisi looks old-fashioned with its vintage signage, hanging salamis, tile work and dry goods lining the shelves. But co-owners/co-chefs Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone have a decidedly modern outlook when it comes to the Italian deli. They've worked with top NYC Italian chefs, like Mario Batali and Andrew Carmellini, who've no doubt influenced their reliance on superior seasonal ingredients. There's a beautiful spread of vegetable antipasti sold by the quarter-pound and house-cured anchovies. Coffee and pastries are served at breakfast.
