This Little Piggy Had Roast Beef

Out of Business
place
149 First Ave, Manhattan, NY, 10003

Description

The cute name alone compels a visit to this little storefront selling roast beef sandwiches and pastrami on rye. Rolls and hero loaves are generously overstuffed with marinated, slow-cooked beef that's so juicy and tender, it's suggestive of prime rib. Just like Francis Garcia and Sal Basille's other places—Artichoke Pizza and Led Zeppole—it's order-at-the-counter service and there's no seating. These two cousins have a cult following, so there's often a wait, though a convivial one.
