The Strand Smokehouse

This low-slung barbecue joint and watering hole has more than 200 seats, so keep it on your radar for parties and family gatherings. Seating is at picnic tables, with some out front and others in the beer garden in back. Adults can indulge in an extensive number of whiskeys and local craft beers along with satisfying cuts of smoked pork, beef short ribs, pastrami, moist smoked turkey and tangy sauce–slathered chicken. Some items run out. Others aren't done yet, so you never really know what will be available by the time you reach the front of the line at the counter. The good part is it will make you try things out of your barbecue comfort zone. Vegetarians aren't going to flock here, but there's vegetarian chili if they do.
