The Ryerson is one of those warm, timeless, exposed-brick joints in Brooklyn featuring saloon food that surpasses expectations. The burger is a juicy, double-patty affair with cheddar and smoky onions, while the fried chicken comes with crocks of collard greens and mashed potatoes in support. Pecan pesto and spicy cayenne bread crumbs heighten the mac and cheese. Cocktails are good, too, and there’s pleasant outdoor seating in back.
