Tucked behind The Gotham Hotel lobby is a cozy, stylish bistro and bar that's a true hidden gem in Midtown, convenient to Saks, Rockefeller Center and Grand Central. Tenpenny may be small in size, but it's big on hospitality, with a warm greeting for hotel guests and local workers alike. It's hard to be resentful that this building used to house the cherished Gotham Book Mart. There's a lot to find pleasing on the smart wine and cocktail list and modern American menu with Italian influences. Indulgently rich dishes include porchetta ravioli and gnocchi with butter-poached lobster and black truffles. Or simply stop in for a drink and a snack like chips with roast garlic and Gouda, or crostini with spring peas and pecorino.
