Spicy Moon Vegetarian Szechuan - East Village

Szechuan-style vegetarian food isn’t entirely spicy at Spicy Moon, but mapo tofu, dan dan noodles and peppercorn brussels sprouts all pack a punch. Vegetable dumplings (steamed or fried), mountain yam puffs, scallion pancakes and delicate wontons in chili oil are toned down. The narrow, no-frills space is quiet during the day, but on weekend nights, when the East Village is hopping, it’s a different story.
