Description
Smartly situated by the Kips Bay campus of Baruch College is Rocky Slims, an Italian-American trattoria with a separate annex selling students' favorite staple: pizza slices. The dining room features whole pies, wood fired and explosive with flavor. The crust achieves a golden, buttery elasticity that holds up well the next day. Chef Angelo Romano also creates stimulating, seasonal pastas like radiatore with parsnips, pecorino and black pepper; seafood dishes with spice (cod arrabbiata); and roasted duck with rutabaga and spring onions. The red banquettes are good for groups, and the marble bar carries a full roster of cocktails, wine and craft beer.
