River Deli

Description

An Italian restaurant with Sardinian leanings belies the name of this romantic little hideaway in a former deli. Chef-owner Andrea Mocci and his wife, Giovanna Fadda, have created the sort of setting that can't fail to melt even a cold, cold heart. They've assembled an all-Italian wine list (topped by labels from their native Sardinia) and serve both familiar dishes (fried calamari, grilled steak) and lesser-known pastas, such as malloredus sardi alla Campidanese, with sausage, tomato and sharp pecorino. Afterward, walk it off with a stroll around the dreamy neighborhood.
