Description
New Yorkers know from hot dogs, and Papaya Dog is one of the City’s most well-known purveyors. (Not to be confused with its competitor in frankfurter vending, Gray’s Papaya.) It should go without saying that the menu offerings here aren’t for those on a health kick—this is greasy, classic street food made to please your junkiest cravings. Order a dog topped with condiments including chili and cheese, relish, sauerkraut or onions, pair it with fries smothered in cheese and wash it all down with papaya juice. In the wee hours after a night spent imbibing, few things better hit the spot.
