The unofficial king of Second Avenue, this East Side, old-town Italian and seafood destination has been at the top of the heap since 1926. The menu casts a wide net—from veal martini to Nova Scotia lobster to double-cut lamb rib chops—but it's often difficult to concentrate on dinner given the rich cultural history plastered in every available inch of wall space.
