Niche Mazémen

Out of Business

Description

Chef Shigetoshi Nakamura is revered for ramen, opening Niche next door to his namesake noodle shop (Nakamura) near the Lower East Side base of the Williamsburg Bridge. Mazémen is the brothless style, the noodles piled with tarako (salty roe) and smoked salmon or bacon, poached egg and maitake mushroom cream. It’s fragrant when blended together and slurped up. For starters, make sure to get the uni toast or avocado with tempura flakes. The windowed, compact space has just one 14-seat communal table.
