Marco's

Out of Business

Description

Marco's is yet another example of how Prospect Heights has arrived as a tony Brooklyn neighborhood—note the BMWs parked out front. Owned by Francine Stephens and Andrew Feinberg, the intimate, mahogany-and-brick space was originally Franny's, whose extreme popularity caused them to move it to larger digs nearby. Marco's serves authentic, seasonally driven Italian food, made even more flavorful when matched with a bottle from the thoughtful Italian wine list. Taleggio cheese with hazelnuts, wood-grilled oysters and prosciutto di Parma with gnoccho fritto are all great beginners, followed by pici (fat, hand-rolled pasta) with broccoli and guanciale, wood-grilled lamb chops and a side of buttery, sweet Carolina golden rice.
