Maison Yaki

Out of Business

Description

Like its name, Maison Yaki is French-Japanese. Chef-owner Greg Baxtrom is a star in Prospect Heights and beyond; his revered Olmsted is across the street. The menu is priced right, with cocktails on tap and small plates of tempura frog legs and duck rillettes with wasabi that run just under $10. Skewers of scallops and cauliflower okonomiyaki with hazelnuts are killer. The narrow, wood-detailed space has an open kitchen leading to a back patio with a pétanque court.
