Description
The cupcakes at the Southern-style Magnolia Bakery, with their generous dollops of pastel-colored frosting, became famous,when they appeared on Sex and the City. Long lines continue to snake around its original West Village shop, spurring a cupcake craze that hasn’t stopped. Magnolia has since expanded to various outposts, including this one just off the Third Avenue entrance of the flagship Bloomingdale’s. For shoppers in need of a sugar rush, other faves are the delectably creamy banana pudding and a generous helping of red velvet cake.
