La Dolce Via

Out of Business

Description

Over in Whitestone, Queens, La Dolce Via has become a favorite for locals and a well-kept secret. The spacious interior, decorated with a large mural, offers room for chatting and relaxing in this pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. The gelato is available in classic Italian flavors, including pistachio, lemon and stracciatella, as well as nontraditional flavors, such as the popular popcorn (invented for La Dolce Via's 2010 Oscars party), pancake (made from maple syrup and lightly burned pancakes) and red velvet. Seasonal varieties have included marshmallow Peeps gelato for Easter and Guinness-flavored gelato for St. Patrick's Day. La Dolce Via's other offerings, including the traditional gelato on brioche and gelato cakes, are also crowd-pleasing.
