Kenka

Description

Craving Japanese food but hoping for something more unpredictable than sushi? This Saint Mark’s izakaya–think Japanese watering hole–has a menu with roughly 150 small plates ranging from the familiar (yakitori, gyoza, sashimi) to the unusual (turkey testicles, bull penis). There’s plenty of sake and Japanese beers to choose from as well. And the design is as wild as the more outrageous food offerings, including pachinko machines, a courtyard with half-naked mannequins, and  a menu covered in 1970s exploitation film images. Every meal ends with the chance to make your own cotton candy in the on-premises machine.
