The Hurricane Steak and Sushi

Out of Business

Description

Please note: this business is now closed; nycgo.com keeps record of many old and closed venues. This Park Avenue palace takes tiki to the next level. There are pu pu platters—with options like the Peanut Butter & Guava Jam Sandwich with Prosciutto & Thai Basil or the crispy coconut shrimp—and cocktails served in coconuts, like #77, a blend of Montescrisco Spice, coconut, cardamom and passion fruit. But hula skirted servers, there are not. The elegant, multi-room restaurant includes smooth, butternut-wood floors, a draping chandelier and croc-stamped leather banquettes in deep forest green. Try one of the private event rooms and order a whole suckling pig. Or slip downstairs for a rum and shoeshine.
