Four & Twenty Blackbirds

Description

Pie lovers will be in their glories here, with a dozen varieties at any given time. In spring, there might be lemon cream and pear ginger. In summer, look for peach, cherry and lavender-blueberry. Winter will likely bring a bitter chocolate tart. Butter crusts are hand-rolled by two sisters from South Dakota, Melissa and Emily Elsen, who learned from their grandmother. The open space is filled with wide-planked tables and resembles a vintage one-room schoolhouse, complete with reading material stacked on the window ledges. There is also good, strong coffee and a few savory items.
