Fort Reno Provisions

Out of Business

Description

Please note: this business is now closed; nycgo.com keeps record of many old and closed venues. The choicest barbecue in Park Slope is found at Fort Reno Provisions, a wood-clad shack that's a lot more highfalutin' than it looks. Pork and beef are from grass-fed, heritage breeds; smoked duck is from D'Artagnan; and the chicken is free-range. Collard greens from the greenmarket are light rather than leaden, and the cocktails are crafted from small-batch producers and doused with artisanal bitters. Seating is limited, and it's first-come, first-served, sometimes requiring a musical chairs–style aggressiveness. Nearby is owner Jacques Gautier's Latin American restaurant Palo Santo, whose rooftop garden will supply some of the produce.
