Description
Arcadia Mall is one of the fancier shopping emporiums in Flushing, but the main reason to go is for Dumpling Galaxy on the second floor. The dumplings come in a star system's worth of flavors like seafood, duck and mushroom, assorted vegetables, pork and chives, and are even better dunked in light soy sauce. Chef-owner Helen You is from Tianjin, China, where she learned how to cook from her mother and grandparents. She makes far more than dumplings, including all manner of sizzling beef and lamb, steamed whole fish and lobster in chili sauce, and big casseroles of seafood with tofu or chicken with wild mushrooms.
