Cornelius looks like your typical pub, but it’s so much more. The wide-planked floor, tiled bar and tufted chocolate banquettes provide a glowing, relaxing setting to enjoy classic cocktails and gastropub fare like pulled-pork barbecue sliders on brioche buns and Parmesan-crusted chicken breasts with green bean and wild mushroom casserole. Macaroni and cheese is gilded with hot bacon cubes, and a meat plate is loaded with homemade terrine, sausage, cured ham, grilled lard bread and olives. It's housed in a beautifully gentrified brownstone, featuring a great happy hour and live music on Wednesdays.
