Description

The blue and yellow tiling at this cheerful little café is as pretty as china plates. The focus is pressed Cuban sandwiches and coffee drinks like café con leche and café cubano, sweetened with Demerara sugar. A boom box behind the counter supplies a Spanish sound track while you munch on the classic El Cubano or a pechuga—bitter orange–marinated grilled chicken breast with Swiss cheese and chipotle aioli. Sandwiches come with homemade potato chips or plantain chips. The man behind it is Ravi DeRossi of Death & Company and Mayahuel fame.
