Description

Andrew Karasz is a versatile chef, altering his menu every day according to what's in the market and what's on his mind. You can count on at least four appetizers to choose from (such as crisp spiced calamari or heirloom tomatoes with pickled watermelon and feta), creative pastas (capellini with Meyer lemon and Thai chili) and hearty mains (grilled diver scallops with warm lentil salad and cilantro yogurt or marinated grilled hanger steak with truffled fingerling potato salad). Breuckelen (using the original Dutch spelling of "Brooklyn") is on a tree-lined Cobble Hill street next to a pretty park, idyllic for dates that include a post-meal stroll. Along with an original tin ceiling and brickwork, massive tools—salvaged from a junkyard and once used to build the Brooklyn Bridge—hung on the walls add a unique decor touch.
