Chef Anita Lo first gained a following at her lovely Greenwich Village bistro, Annisa, helped along by famously defeating Mario Batali on Iron Chef America in 2004. Bar Q, just around the corner, is her very personal take on barbecue, introducing Asian tweaks to grilled tuna ribs, spit-roasted pork belly and baby back ribs. The setting is mod, minimalist and softly lit, with a greenhouse atrium and additional room for 20 diners in back under the trees. Given her stellar, eclectic reputation, it comes as no surprise that there's also sashimi, a raw bar, Asian-inspired cocktails and a spectacular wine list composed by master sommelier Roger Dagorn.
