Ariemma’s Italian Deli

Sandwiches are the big draw at this old-school Italian deli in the Dongan Hills neighborhood of Staten Island. More than 30 varieties grace the menu, with favorites including the Chicken Lulu (a fried chicken cutlet, melted mozzarella cheese and brown gravy), the Bronx Bomber (roast beef, worcestershire sauce, melted swiss cheese and cole slaw) and an incredibly fresh chicken salad that patrons rave about. All the food has been made with love since the doors opened in 1956, and thanks to authentic touches like stacks of pasta and fresh veggies galore, you’ll feel like you’re in your grandmother’s kitchen circa 60 years ago.
