Description
This clubby, old school steakhouse is hidden at the base of a West Village townhouse, such a cocoon of comfort it’s hard not to linger until closing. The soundtrack is vintage jazz and blues, the cocktails are properly mixed and the slow-roasted, salt-crusted prime rib is deliciously juicy. That’s the main event, but the double patty cheeseburger is exceptional as well. Restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff is also behind Au Cheval in Chicago, where a similar burger has induced fans to line up for hours. If you want to enjoy it at 4 Charles Prime Rib, make a reservation.
