1200 Miles provides a journey of sweeping gastronomic adventure and cultural exploration. Chef Blake Schumpert's full-flavored cooking features influences from French, Italian, Spanish, Greek and Moroccan cuisine. He playfully uses techniques from these varied Mediterranean regions, weaving them together with farm-fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Blake has honed his skills through a 20-year career in some of the country’s best restaurants, including Aqua in San Francisco, under the direction of Michael Mina; Michelle Richard’s Citronelle in Washington DC; and in New York at Blue Hill, Le Bernardin and Lafayette.
