Description

An historic theater called "the jewel of Off-Broadway" by Clive Barnes, Theatre 80 was built in a former speakeasy and jazz club where Frank Sinatra and Edward Albee began their careers. "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" opened here, launching the careers of Bob Balaban and Gary Burghoff, and one of the ushers was Billy Crystal. This is the site of New York's Walk-of-Fame, where many stars have left their handprints and signatures. See live entertainment, including modern dance, opera, musicals, flamenco, drama and stand-up comedy. Visit the tavern, which was the speakeasy's taproom. The space is also available for rentals and screenings.
