The Gym at Judson Memorial Church

Description

Billing itself as a “workout space for the arts,” The Gym at Judson isn’t a weightlifting, treadmill-running, fat-burning location—though it is a former gymnasium in the basement of Judson Memorial Church. Rather it’s a performance space catering for both workshop presentations as well as professional productions. Located on the south side of Washington Square Park, it’s a place where established and emerging artists come to “exercise” their creativity and foster a community in the arts. Past performances have included Sense and Sensibility, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Queen of the Mist and Lysistrata Jones, which later moved to Broadway.
