St. George
St. George Library Center
Description
Staten Island's largest library—just a few minutes walk from the St. George ferry terminal—is also one of its oldest, operating since 1907. Recent renovations on the building—which was designed by Carrere and Hastings, the architects responsible for several notable Staten Island public structures—revealed a long-hidden wooden beam ceiling in the main reading room. The library holds many community events, such as a retro gaming night and teen book discussion groups.
