Silver Lake Park

Description

Silver Lake Park—Staten Island’s answer to Central Park—is a 209-acre oasis, boasting recreational facilities including tennis courts, baseball fields, children’s play areas, biking paths, dog runs and an 18-hole golf course. At the center of is the park is the lake itself, which served as an ice harvesting site and an ice skating facility during the 19th century, and was later drained and refashioned into a working reservoir.
