Park Slope

Prospect Park Youth Council

Description

This community-minded organization advocates for the thousands of young Brooklynites who depend on Prospect Park, Brooklyn's gem of a green space. Since 1998, the group, made up of 14- to 21-year-olds who represent a variety of schools and organizations, has been educating members in the art of political involvement with its leadership-training program. It also organizes events (community gardening for Earth Day, movie nights) to benefit the park and educate locals.
