Prospect Park Concert Grove
Description
The Concert Grove was designed in 1847 as a spot for park goers to take in music being played on nearby Music Island. Though the Grove’s famous pagoda was turned into a snack bar in 1950, and suffered a fire in 1974, a 1987 restoration has returned it to its former glory. The grove, which now serves as a shaded patio area, is home to numerous of busts of great composers and artists, including Beethoven, Mozart and Washington Irving.
