The Central Park (Naumburg) Bandshell is a New York City institution—the location of innumerable (and memorable) performances from years past. Locals and visitors have witnessed extraordinary artists on its stage: Duke Ellington and the Grateful Dead, for example. The structure itself, down the way from the gorgeous Bethesda Terrace, is more than 100 years old and stands as another testament to the urban planning brilliance of Central Park.
