Classic Stage Company
Description
As the name suggests, this well-respected theater company has been producing and showcasing the classics since it was founded in 1967 by director Christopher Martin as a 100-seat venue. After stints in a few other places in Manhattan, the CSC found a permanent home in 1974 at its current 13th Street space, the Lynn F. Angelson Theater. Boldface names that’ve performed at this award-winning spot include Liev Schreiber, F. Murray Abraham, Frances McDormand, Stanley Tucci and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
