Gramercy

Brotherhood Synagogue

Description

Originally founded in 1954, this progressive Conservative Jewish synagogue holds weekly Shabbat prayer services with a twist—their "Synaplex" Shabbat services feature multiple events, such as prayer, talks and yoga, presented at once, with congregants free to travel from one event to another. Brotherhood also presents holiday services, a women's group, a social-action committee, nursery school and Hebrew school, and adult education on topics from Hebrew and the Kabbalah to interfaith Bible study.
