“NYC: Above and Beyond” is a special exhibit inside the Empire State Building, created in partnership with New York City Tourism + Conventions, Within the experience, visitors have the opportunity to build digital trip itineraries featuring the best things to do and see around the five boroughs. This personalized approach to planning can be emailed or accessed via QR code for use on any digital device. Located on the 80th floor of the iconic landmark, “NYC: Above and Beyond” is complemented by stunning and expansive views of the City and represents just one element of the building’s revitalization. Among the many other interactive exhibits on the 2nd and 80th floors, visitors can explore a showcase about the structure’s history, take a photo inside King Kong’s hand, enjoy expansive 80-mile views on the the 102nd-floor observatory, visit the City’s highest open-air observatory on the 86th floor (which features heat lamps for colder weather), and walk a hall of fame filled with photos of celebrity visitors.
Practicalities
Empire State Building, 20 W. 34th St. (bet. Fifth and Sixth Aves.). Subway: 6 to 33rd St.; B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, W to 34th St.–Herald Sq; 1, 2, 3, A, C, E to 34th Street—Penn Station. Hours: Open daily year-round, but times vary. The building opens between 9am and 10am and closes 9pm to 12am depending on the time of year. Admission: You must reserve your tickets in advance, and pricing starts at $44 for adults, $38 for kids and $42 for seniors.
