Welcome to the Johnsons

Description

This cool dive bar makes you feel like you’re back in your parents’ basement from the ‘70s, with its faux-wood-paneled walls and sports trophies. The crowd is a mix of locals, which gives Welcome to the Johnsons some cred, and plenty of hipsters too. One big selling point is that the drinks are cheap—a welcome respite from the typically overpriced cocktail and craft beer joints occupying much of the Lower East Side. Try their infamously potent margaritas (sadly, only available during the summer).
