The Snug Tavern and Grille

Description

Known affectionately as "the Snug" by locals, this Irish pub attached to the City Island Diner is a homey pit stop for both City Island day trippers and natives alike. The menu is filled with familiar favorites of the fried persuasion—from calamari, to shrimp, to fish 'n' chips—which pair nicely with classic cocktails and pints of Guinness. According to a staffer, while the kitchen shuts at 10pm, closing hour at the bar is determined by how many patrons there are left to be served.
