The Last Word
Description
Classic craft cocktails are not Astoria’s stock and trade but this subdued lounge represents well, with sophisticated libations like Sloe On the Draw (mezcal, sloe berries, chili, pomegranate), Butterfly Punch (lavender vodka, black currant, prosecco) and the titular Last Word (gin, green chartreuse, lime juice). There’s also a good lineup of tapas, including oysters, empanadas and anticuchos (spicy Peruvian steak skewers). The Prohibition vibe has been toned down, but there’s still a cozy charm and whip-smart bartenders in sharp vests. Plus, every Thursday night brings live music.
