Mother of Pearl

Out of Business

Description

This breezy bar-restaurant in Alphabet City feels like part of an upscale Polynesian resort and serves drinks that look like works of art. Its Shark Eye cocktail (you may have seen it on Instagram) is a full-on performance piece, complete with a shark cup that drips “blood” down its open mouth. But taking a look around at this bar’s turquoise-and-white decor and gauzy curtains is enough to soothe the most galeophobic of patrons. The owner also oversees Death & Company and Amor y Amargo.
