Mister Paradise
Description
Pop-culture nerds will get a kick out of Mister Paradise. The East Village spot, co-founded by NoMad Hotel bar alum Will Wyatt, nods to popular TV shows and movies in its decor and on its menu. The deco bar has a red room designed to evoke A Clockwork Orange, and the bathroom is painted to match the shade of blue-green in The Shining’s room 237. Cocktails here have names like Party Lobster (a margarita-esque drink with garlic and habañero) and Café Disco (an Old Fashioned–inspired option named for an episode of The Office). Don’t let the gimmicky names fool you, though; after sipping one of Wyatt’s creations, you’ll know the drinks here are no joke.
