From outside, this Williamsburg watering hole with its facade of tall glass windows and steel has an almost imposing presence. But inside, the vibe is laidback and friendly, the latter trait provided by barman and the bar’s namesake himself Matt Torrey. On draft, there’s a wide assortment of craft beers from New York State; if you prefer imports, you can order them by the bottle or can. Though it’s mainly a spot for imbibing, there are hot pressed sandwiches and finger foods that make excellent chasers. Occasional live music and DJs is also on tap, though no set schedule—check the events calendar to make sure the noise level fits your mood.
