Loosie Rouge

Out of Business

Description

This Louisiana-flavored hot spot offers an atmospheric bar with wood-paneled celings and a bright restaurant, known as Loosie’s Kitchen, with whitewashed brick walls and bright pastel colors—perhaps a bit more Miami than the wrought iron of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Nevertheless, the food and drinks certainly taste like the Big Easy. Bites like blackened catfish and shrimp po’ boy transport you down south. One of the cocktails, the Hurry-Cane (a riff on New Orleans’s most famous tipple), is made with banana-infused dark rum, spiced passion fruit, lemon juice and organic coconut water.
